Woman Who Caused Double Fatality in Alpine Pleads Guilty

Sunny Hall, 31, was arrested on June 11, 2012 for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Shortly before 3:00 am, 25 year-old Angela August lost control of her vehicle. She was pinned under the Toyota Yaris on Interstate 8 when Jimmy Arevalo pulled over to help. Mr. Arevalo was on his cell phone speaking with the California Highway Patrol when Ms. Hall hit him and the overturned Yaris. Both August and Arevalo died at the scene. Ms. Hall posted $350,000 bail and remains out on bail after pleading guilty today. She will be sentenced to nine years in state prison on March 3 at the El Cajon Courthouse.
